3rd graders learned about analogous colors on the color wheel and chose three colors to paint for their backgrounds. Students also learned about the technique of adding salt to their watercolor and saw how the water was absorbed to create an interesting effect. Students learned about silhouettes and used charcoal and bird images as a reference to create bird perched on a wire.
