Kindergarten and 1st grade students were introduced to the Horn of Plenty and got to create their own versions this November. Some students who were done early sewed the outside of their horn with yarn.

2nd Grade Splatter Bugs
Students learned about "organic" lines creating this project. These organic lines were made from blobs of paint that were expanded by the breath of each student through a straw. On the second class students chose three organic creatures or bugs to bring to life. Each story has a a written description underneath it explaining the process and the "bugs."
This is a picture of my Splatter Bugs. They were created using paint and a straw. The lines created are organic. My bugs names are Splat, Venom and Harry Potter. Their special powers are spitting venom and claws that can cut threw steel. -Ian W.

Paper Sculpted Patterns: First Grade
First graders also learned about the significance of a pattern. Students learned that patterns repeat and can be seen in many different places. Students also learned that patterns have a rhythm just like music does.
There are countless ways to sculpt a pattern using just a piece of paper, scissors and a pencil!
