Students started the New Year out with creating a self-portrait. Students learned that a self-portrait is a drawing, painting or work of art created about themselves; particularly our faces. We also discussed the New Year and the term resolution. We talked about how starting a New Year is a fresh start for many, it can mean setting goals for ourselves to better ourselves. Each student wrote a resolution to be displayed underneath their portraits. They range from helping out mom and dad, to learning something new, to sharing with siblings. These works will be on display for the February open house.
