5th Grade Henri Matisse Paintings

The 5th grade was introduced to the life and artwork of the french painter Henri Matisse. Mattise's later work was known for being very colorful, bold and distorted. He is part of a group of artist known as the "fauves" or "wild beasts,"  in the art movement of fauvism. Each student was given a small image of one of his paintings and challenged with the task of recreating their own version of a Matisse painting.

Ashley, Hailey and Abigail's artwork was chosen to be on display at the NBT Bank.
