Kindergarten Picasso Portraits

Kindergarten was introduced to the life and work of the famous artist Pablo Picasso. We read a book and passed around multiple copies of his artwork. As a class discussed how some of his work seems silly and does not always make sense to us. We learned about the word "abstract" and the concept of "cubism."

For their final art project students were instructed to create their own versions of Picasso portraits. We created the front of a face, split it in half and used the other side to create a "profile" view.

Keegan, Alexis and Maggie's
Portraits were chosen to be hung at NBT bank with other students artwork
