Alexander Calder Inspired Mobiles
1st grade students were introduced to Calder, his life and how it has affected his artwork. Students were shown examples of his artwork and then given the challenge of creating their own mobiles.
Materials: Drinking straws
Tape
Ribbon
Soft wire
Beads
Pencils were used to curl the wire:
This was a very challenging project for first grade but they are a very ambitious class so I gave it a shot!
