Trinity Knot

Trinity Knot

Just before St. Patricks Day 1st grade students learned the history and meaning of the trinity symbol and how to draw it.  Students were proud after they learned how to draw their schools' symbol. Many were unaware they were capable of drawing it. This symbol is a paradox and is infinite, which also re-inforces the symbolism of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This christian symbol is also known as the "triquetra knot"
Directions:
1) Trace and cut a yellow circle from a template, fold it in half, then into fourths
2) Place a dot on the top of the circle and in between the bottom two quadrants
3) Carefully watch as the teacher draws a line from the bottom left dot, around the center to the top dot, back around the center to the bottom right dot (should look like a ribbon)
4) Then around the center again back to the first dot (the bottom left)

(Makes more sense to most to visually learn this in action!)

Proudly on display outside their classroom
