Abstract Heart Paintings
Students were introduced to the concept of abstract art. We looked at a variety of famous artworks and discussed the differences between realistic and abstract. Students were then instructed to paint five hearts using black paint anywhere on their paper. Students all used the same bright colors to create their paintings
We also discussed how powerful and important the human heart is
Oil pastel was used to sharpen edges and add more lines to the paintings
When the paintings were complete they were hung in the gymnasium just in time for Jump Rope for Heart!
