Classroom Management

This is our positive behavior chart,
When students enter the room I place a clothespin with their names on the green "ready-to-work" square. If a student choses to make poor choices his/her clothespin moves down to the yellow "warning" square. If the student changes his/her behavior by making better choices he/she can be moved back up to green square, if not he/she moves down to the red "time out" square and lose their classes chance at a star. However, if students show they are going above and beyond at being well-behaved, respectful and hard working artists they may be moved up to the blue highest honor "Artist All Stars" square.

It is a challenge each day for the entire class to receive a yellow star. If anyones clothespin makes it down to red the class does not receive a yellow star for the day.

Once a class has 10 stars they earn a FREE ART DAY where each table is a different station and students get to chose what they want to create.

I do this for my Pre K-3rd grade and they all respond very well to it. Each class is eager and proud to report back to their teacher with their stars.
